Arrest Made in Domestic Shooting

On October 17, 2019, the Dothan Police Department received a call of persons shot, while attempting to kill a rabid raccoon on Brighton Court. When officers arrived, they found two people shot inside the residence. One person was shot in the leg and the other was shot in the arm.

After an investigation, it was determined that one gunshot wound was self-inflicted in an effort to cover up a domestic violence act. The victim received a non-life threating injury and there was no rabid raccoon at the scene.

Catherine Fernandez (37) was arrested and charged with Domestic Violence 1st Degree and will be held on a $30,000 bond.

All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
