Elder Abuse 2nd Arrest

On 7/27/2017, Melissa Kimbrough (Watters) (54) was arrested for Elder Abuse 2nd Degree pursuing an incident which occurred on Roosevelt Drive. No bond has been set.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Arrest for Endangering the Welfare of a Child

On July 26th 2017, Patrol Officers responded to the 2200 block of Westgate Parkway on a child neglect call. It was determined that three children aged seven, four and four had been left home alone with no supervision from 6 am until after 1 pm. The mother of the children , 27 year old Kathryn Nicole Williams, was arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child and booked into the City of Dothan Jail.

UPDATED: Search Warrant Leads to Multiple Arrests

Updated Information

On 7/25/2017, Investigators from the Dothan Police Criminal Investigations and Vice Divisions served a search warrant in the 300 block of Blackshear Street. Five adults were charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and their bonds were set at $10,000.00 each. Additional charges are pending.

The initial investigation stemmed from allegations of kidnapping. During the investigation, the residence on Blackshear Street was identified as the location of a portion of the offense. A search warrant was obtained and then served on the morning of 7/27/2017. During a search of the residence, items were recovered which have been since been determined to have been stolen in Newton Alabama. Items recovered included: Cocaine, Marijuana, miscellaneous drug paraphernalia, three firearms, a 65qt Yeti cooler as well as a compound bow and game cameras. Owners of the stolen items are being notified as they are identified with the help of Newton Police Department.

Narcotics Arrest

On 07/24/2017 Investigators arrested and charged 33 year old Antonio Demarcus Beck, of W. Selma Street, with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. This was following a traffic stop by the Patrol Division. Bond has been set at $1,500.

Theft of Property Arrests

On 7/21/2017, Jerod Damone Turner was arrested on charges of Theft of Property 1st and Theft of Property 2nd stemming from events occurring at Walmart between 7/13/2017 and 7/16/2017. Bonds were set at $30,000.00 and $15,000.00 respectively.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Narcotics Arrest

On 07/22/2017 Investigators arrested and charged 54 year old Kenneth Earl Daniels, of Montana Street, with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. This was following a traffic stop performed by the Patrol Division. Bond has been set at $5,000.

Narcotics Arrest

On 07/20/2017 Investigators arrested and charged 33 year old Joshua Bryan Blocker, of County Road 203, with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. This stemmed from Blocker being found in possession of a controlled substance by the Patrol Division. Bond has been set at $2,500.

Theft of Property 3rd Arrest

On July 19th 2017, Shenekia Nicole Gilmore was arrested for Theft of Property 3rd Degree. Charges stemmed from events which occurred at JC Penney. Bond was set at $1000.00.

On 07/18/2017 Investigators arrested and charged 24 year old Dallas Sheffield, of Cotton Drive Midland City, with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. This was following a traffic stop by the Patrol Division. Bond has been set at $1,500.

Suspect Killed During Church Robbery

On July 16th, 2017 at 2234 hours, Patrol Officers responded to 2574 Westgate Parkway, Crossroads Baptist Church on a Burglary/Robbery call. Officers arrived to find 26 year old black male Steffon Parreese Valentez Tolver deceased in the parking lot. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Tolver entered  the back door of the church.  Once inside, Tolver robbed the parishioner of approximately $50.00 then attempted to rob a church staff member. The staff member, fired his personal handgun once, striking Tolver in the upper torso. Tolver fled out the back door and into the parking lot where he succumbed to his injury.
