Arrest Made In Robbery Of An ATV

In January 2023, a victim reported to the Dothan Police Department he had been robbed at gunpoint of an ATV he was attempting to sell. The victim met the supposed buyer in the 1200 block of Greenwood Drive. When the victim arrived with the ATV, the suspect produced a weapon and took the ATV. The ATV was later found abandoned across town from where it was taken.

This has been an ongoing investigation. The suspect in this case has now been identified as 20 year-old Mi’Qhueil Jasiah Whigham of Dothan. Whigham has been charged with one count of Robbery First Degree and his bond was set at $30,000.00.

New Charges for Murder Suspect

During the early morning hours of Sunday, February 5, 2023, the Dothan Police Department was called to the 500 block of North Foster Street in reference to a robbery of a person. After speaking to the female victim, it was determined she and the suspect, Jamie Emmanuel Townes, had an argument that led to him assaulting her and taking her purse and vehicle.  As a result, Jamie Emmanuel Townes, 31 years old of Dothan, was arrested and charged with one count of Robbery Third Degree. He currently has no bond.

At the time of this incident, Townes was out on bond for Murder. Part of his conditions of being on bond for the Murder was to not be involved in any criminal activity. Because of that, his previous bond has been revoked and he currently remains in the Houston County Jail.

Four Suspects Charged with Robbery of Business

On Wednesday, September 28, 2022, the Dothan Police Department responded to a strong-arm robbery in the 3000 block of Montgomery Highway. It was determined four individuals became belligerent with the employees of the establishment and began destroying property inside. During their rampage, one of the suspects commented they were going to rob them. Another suspect used a cell phone and videoed the incident. While walking on the countertop of the business, one suspect reached down and took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register.

The identity of all four suspects was learned and warrants were obtained for each of them. As of 10/3/2022, all four suspects have been arrested and charged with Robbery Second Degree. The suspects have been identified as: Chelsea Ingram, 21 years old of Dothan, AL; Ja’mya Mykia Brown, 22 years old of Geneva, AL; Nyesha Charna-Janay Brooks, 18 years old of Dothan, AL; and Kejuan Lydarion Stoudemire, 19 years old of Ashford, AL. Each of them has a bond of $30,000.00.

The Dothan Police Department is asking for the assistance of the community in identifying two of those individuals. Update: Arrests Made in Robbery at Dothan Pavilion

On Saturday, September 3, 2022, a juvenile was physically assaulted by a group of other juveniles and had a piece of jewelry stolen during the assault. It was later discovered this incident was recorded and the video was circulating on social media.

Investigators were able to identify all juveniles involved and as a result, six juveniles have been charged with Robbery Second Degree and were turned over to the Southeast Alabama Diversion Center. One additional juvenile, who is not from Dothan, has been identified as well and is currently being sought.

We would like to thank our local community for their assistance in bringing this situation to a successful conclusion.

Strong Arm Robbery at Dothan Pavilion

Update: The suspects were successfully identified and charges filed.

On 09/03/2022 at approximately 7:15 p.m. patrol officers were dispatched to the Dothan Pavilion Shopping Center, in the area of AMC Theaters, in reference to a disturbance involving multiple juveniles. Upon arrival, it was determined that a juvenile had been physically assaulted by a group of additional juveniles and had a piece of jewelry stolen during the assault.

This incident occurred in the parking lot and did not involve any of the businesses.

Rescue was called to the scene and the victim was treated for minor physical injuries.

Dothan Man Charged with Armed Robbery

On 8/4/2022, a physical altercation took place between a victim and two suspects over property in the 200 block of Fortner Street.  During the physical altercation, one suspect produced a handgun and shot the victim in the arm.  The victim underwent surgery for the non-life threatening injury and is expected to make a full recovery.  One suspect, Kevone Devontay Smith, 21 years old of Dothan, has been arrested and charged with one count of Robbery First Degree.  His bond was set at $60,000.00.

Man Shot During Robbery

On Friday night, 7/22/2022, just before 9:00 PM, a male victim was approached by a black female suspect while at a business in the 3000 block of Denton Road. The female asked him for a ride and he agreed. Once in the vehicle, the suspect produced a hand gun and demanded the victim to drive. The suspect continued to tell the victim where to go to. They stopped in the 2300 block of Denton Road. The victim exited the vehicle and the suspect demanded the keys to the vehicle. The victim initially refused to give the keys to the suspect. The suspect then shot the victim in the arm. The suspect was then able to get the keys and left on the victim’s vehicle.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for his injury. It was later determined he would have to be transferred to an out of town facility for specialized treatment.

Several hours after the incident occurred, the victim’s vehicle was located abandoned in Headland, AL.

The unknown black female suspect is described as being 5’8” – 5’11” tall, 20-25 years old, had a lip piercing, wearing a green jacket and short white pants.

Woman Charged with First Degree Robbery

On July 3, 2022 Jadajah Bryant is alleged to have committed First Degree Robbery in the 3000 block of Flynn Road.  Bryant met the victim to purchase an item he was selling.  Bryant is alleged to have snatched the item and fled while indicating she was in possession of a weapon.

Jadajah I’liyah Bryant, 20 years old from Dothan, was charged with Robbery First Degree.  Her bond was set at $60,000.00.

Man Assaulted and Robbed at a Local Motel

On May 29, 2022, a man was invited to a local motel by a female acquaintance. While there, the man was assault by two other individuals who were hiding and waiting on him. At least one of those individuals was armed with a weapon. During the assault, the victim was pushed into a large glass window which broke. Pieces of the broken glass cut the victim causing a serious arm injury. The victim had surgery for his injury and is still undergoing treatment. Money was taken from the victim during the assault. Thus far, three individuals have been arrested for this incident.

Rickel Elijah Daniel, 23 years old of Dothan; Desaree Bronbdell Chaffins, 29 years old of Dothan; and Brandy Hope Townsend, 43 years old of Dothan; have all been charged with one count of Robbery First Degree. Their bond was set at $60,000.00 each.
