Man Charged with Kidnapping, Domestic Violence, and Pistol with no Permit

On Monday, 10/3/2022, at approximately 7:00 PM, officers were dispatched to the 2100 Block of Montgomery Highway to a male threatening a female with a gun. Officers contacted the female victim who gave details of what had occurred. An argument took place between the suspect and victim and the suspect began threatening the victim with a gun, held her against her will, and forced her to comply with his orders.

The suspect, Quinderris Bernard Grigley, 22 years old of Dothan, was arrested and charged with Kidnapping Second Degree, Domestic Violence Third Degree, and Possession of a Concealed Pistol without a permit. His bond has been set at $36,500.00.

UPDATED: Two Suspects Caught for Diamond Theft

On Monday 10/3/2022, at approximately 2:15 PM, a white male suspect entered a Jewelry Store inside Wiregrass Commons Mall posing as a potential customer. While looking at several pieces of diamond jewelry the clerk was showing him from the display case, the suspect snatched several pieces of the jewelry and ran out of the store. The suspect entered a black vehicle with dark tinted windows and the vehicle fled. Information was obtained during the investigation that made officers think the suspect and vehicle could possibly be from another state west of Alabama. This information was disseminated to all surrounding law enforcement agencies.

Several hours later, an alert deputy in Baldwin County, Alabama was looking for a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description while working on Interstate 10. The deputy stopped a vehicle that was later determined to be the suspect vehicle from Dothan, AL. The vehicle was occupied by two individuals: Colby Allen Ladnier, and Alberto Esquivel II, both of Houston, TX. A probable cause search of the vehicle led to the recovery of evidence related to the crime that occurred in Dothan earlier in the day. Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department had charges related to their encounter. Dothan Police Department will be obtaining warrants for both individuals for Theft of Property First Degree. It is unknown when Ladnier and Esquivel will be transferred to Dothan to be formally charged.

Four Suspects Charged with Robbery of Business

On Wednesday, September 28, 2022, the Dothan Police Department responded to a strong-arm robbery in the 3000 block of Montgomery Highway. It was determined four individuals became belligerent with the employees of the establishment and began destroying property inside. During their rampage, one of the suspects commented they were going to rob them. Another suspect used a cell phone and videoed the incident. While walking on the countertop of the business, one suspect reached down and took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register.

The identity of all four suspects was learned and warrants were obtained for each of them. As of 10/3/2022, all four suspects have been arrested and charged with Robbery Second Degree. The suspects have been identified as: Chelsea Ingram, 21 years old of Dothan, AL; Ja’mya Mykia Brown, 22 years old of Geneva, AL; Nyesha Charna-Janay Brooks, 18 years old of Dothan, AL; and Kejuan Lydarion Stoudemire, 19 years old of Ashford, AL. Each of them has a bond of $30,000.00.

Man Steals Diamonds

Man Charged with Electronic Solicitation of a Child

The Dothan Police Department was notified of a situation in which an adult male was soliciting a juvenile by means of an electronic device attempting to get the juvenile to engage in sexual activities. An investigation immediately began, and it was determined there was sufficient evidence to substantiate the allegation.

As a result, Dexter Marquis Curry, 31 years old of Ozark, was arrested and charged with one count of Electronic Solicitation of a Child. His bond was set at $30,000.00.

Dothan Woman Arrested for Domestic Violence

On Friday, September 23, 2022, officers responded to Southeast Health Emergency Room for an assault that had taken place in the 800 block of Walnut Street. Upon their arrival, they made contact with a male victim who had a severe laceration to his face. After receiving treatment there, he was transferred to an out of town facility for specialized treatment.

The suspect, January Corbitt, 43 years old of Dothan, was arrested and charged with Domestic Violence First Degree. Her bond was set at $30,000.00.

Two Dothan Women Charged with Hindering Prosecution

In July of 2022, the Dothan Police Department began working a double murder investigation along with Holmes County, Florida Sheriff’s Department. During the investigation, five individuals were identified as suspects. Two of those suspects; 32 year old Devante Williams, and 31 year old MacAuthur Hawkins, both of Dothan, are still being sought by the Dothan Police Department and the U.S. Marshals. Williams and Hawkins are wanted for one count of Capital Murder, one count of Kidnapping First Degree and one count of Abuse of a Corpse.

In recent days, investigators have identified two females that have been hindering the apprehension of Devante Williams by providing him with housing and vehicles. Quantasia Johnson, 27 years old from Dothan, and Cathleen Harvis, 26 years old from Enterprise, have each been charged with one count of Hindering Prosecution First Degree. Each one has a $15,000.00 bond.

Dothan Man Charged with Multiple Burglaries

On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at approximately 11:20 PM, Dothan Police Officers responded to a burglary at Dollar General in the 1000 block of Montgomery Highway. Officers confirmed a suspect had broken the front glass window and gained access then took several pieces of merchandise from the business before fleeing. Officers reviewed surveillance video and recognized the suspect.

Officers located the suspect later in the night next to a vacant residence in the area which was believed he was frequenting. A search warrant of the residence led to the recovery of multiple pieces of merchandise matching what was taken during the burglary.

Damon Renwick Goodson, 51 years old of Dothan, was determined to have been responsible for several other burglaries within recent weeks. Goodson was charged with six counts of Burglary Third Degree, one count of Theft of Property First Degree, one count of Theft of Property Second Degree, three counts of Theft of Property Third Degree, and one count of Criminal Mischief Third Degree. His bond has been set at $68,000.00.

Church Burglary

On Monday, 9/19/2022, Dothan Police Officers responded to a burglary at City Church Dothan on West Selma Street. Officers found forced entry had been made into the church and several items removed, along with damage done to the interior of the church. With help of the surrounding community, two individuals responsible for this were located nearby. Those two individuals have been identified as juveniles and were charged with Burglary Third Degree.
