Arrest: Domestic Violence by Strangulation

 

Jeremy Bernard Thompson – Criminal Mischief III – Domestic Violence by Strangulation/Suffocation

On August 7th 2017, Jeremy Bernard Thompson (30) was arrested for Domestic Violence by Strangulation for an incident which occurred on the same date in the 800 block of Williams Avenue. His bond was set at $30,000.00.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Arrest: Burglary 2nd and Assault 2nd Degree

On August 7th, Kevin Michael Griffin (51) was arrested for Burglary 2nd for an incident that occurred in the 4400 block of West Main Street. When confronted by Patrol Officers, Griffin attempted to flee by striking an Officer. Due to that incident, Griffin was also charged with Assault 2nd Degree. Bonds were set at $20,000.00 and $15,000.00 respectively.

Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle Arrest (112 Counts)

After an extensive investigation into multiple cases, spanning two months, Tierney Tranieye English (23) and Derek Dewayne Moore (27) were arrested on 56 counts each of Unlawful Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle. The cases involved the theft of batteries from vehicles parked at automotive repair businesses. Bonds were set at $5000,.00 on each count. The investigation is ongoing and additional cases are likely.

Arrest: Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st X12

On 8/4/2017, Darius Butler (24) was arrested on twelve counts of Possession of Forged Instrument 1st Degree (US currency). The incident occurred at Freemans Shur Valu  on East Main Street. Bond was set at $5,000.00 on each count.

Attempted Assault 1st, Receiving Stolen Property 3rd and Controlled Substance Arrests

On 8/3/2017, Patrol Officers responded to a suspicious person call in the 2900 block of the Circle. Lawrence fled the scene in a stolen car, striking two cars, one being a patrol car, and narrowly missing an Officer attempting to confront him. The vehicle was recovered abandoned but a Crime Scene Technician was able to connect Lawrence to the vehicle through a fingerprint.

Arrest: Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st (US Currency)

Robert Eugene Stults – Possession of Forged Instrument I

On 8/3/2017, after an investigation into a counterfeit $100.00 bill, Robert Eugene Stults (46) was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st Degree. His bond was placed at $30.000.00.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Narcotics Arrest

On 08/04/2017 a Patrol Sergeant attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on N. Herring Street. The vehicle failed to stop for a short time. When it slowed, the front seat passenger fled on foot. The Officer immediately gave chase. As the Officer was closing in on the suspect he turned and began to fight the Officer. After a brief struggle the suspect was taken into custody. Illegal narcotics were found on the suspect.

Vice Investigators have arrested and charged 38 year old Daniel Dewayne Earl Critten, of E. Washington Street, with two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Harassment of a Public Official. Bonds total $3,600.

All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Arrest- 6 Counts of Unlawful Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle

On July 30th 2017, Henderson Todd Miller Jr. was arrested on six counts of Unlawful Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle. The offenses occurred in the 100 block of Castle Drive on July 30th and the investigation is ongoing.

As always, the Dothan Police Department encourages you to lock your car doors and to keep valuables out of sight when you are not in your vehicle.

Elder Abuse 2nd Arrest

On 7/27/2017, Melissa Kimbrough (Watters) (54) was arrested for Elder Abuse 2nd Degree pursuing an incident which occurred on Roosevelt Drive. No bond has been set.

Arrest for Endangering the Welfare of a Child

On July 26th 2017, Patrol Officers responded to the 2200 block of Westgate Parkway on a child neglect call. It was determined that three children aged seven, four and four had been left home alone with no supervision from 6 am until after 1 pm. The mother of the children , 27 year old Kathryn Nicole Williams, was arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child and booked into the City of Dothan Jail.
