Shortly before 8:00 pm on Thursday April 25, 2024, the Dothan Communications Center received emergency calls for a male shot at an apartment complex in the 2200 block of Westgate Parkway. When Officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. Officers quickly assessed the injury, according to their training, and applied a “chest seal” to the victim to stabilize him until paramedics could arrive on scene. The male was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery. The victim started in critical condition and is now in stable condition.
Dothan Investigators and Forensic Services personnel processed the crime scene. The victim was unable to give many details of the crime due to his injuries. At this time, the investigation to find the person responsible is underway.
