Shell Station on Hartford Hwy. Robbed

On Nov. 7th 2018 at approximately 11:30 P.M. Dothan Police responded to a report of an Armed Robbery at the Shell Station located in the 2900 block of Hartford Highway.

Once on scene officers discovered that a black male wearing a blue or black hooded jacket, black pants, and a blue bandana over his face entered the store and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect had his hand in his pocket that led the clerk to believe he was armed with a weapon.

The clerk opened the register and gave the contents to him. The suspect then fled on foot from the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. Video evidence was collected from the scene.

Gunman Robs Convenience Store

During the early Morning hours of Sunday, September 16, 2018, a lone gunman entered the Circle K Convenience Store located at 4196 Ross Clark Circle armed with a small hand gun and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect was able to leave the store with only a small, undisclosed amount of money and was last seen fleeing the scene on foot south bound from the business.  The investigation is ongoing and the Dothan Police Department asks that anyone with information related to this incident please contact the Dothan Police Department at 615-3000 or CrimeStoppers at 793-7000.

 

Victim Burglarized, Robbed and Assaulted

During the early morning hours of Saturday, September 15, 2018, the Dothan Police Department was called to the 100 block of Radford Circle in reference to a report of a robbery and assault. Upon arrival, officers determined the door to the victim’s residence had been kicked in by two black male suspects.  The suspects had their faces covered with shirts and at least one of the suspects was armed with a long gun.  While one suspect rummaged through the victim’s house looking for money and valuables, the other suspect physically assaulted the victim.  While the one suspect was assaulting the victim, the shirt came off of his face and the victim recognized him as a previous acquaintance.  The victim was able to provide the one suspect’s identity to police.  The suspects took the victim’s wallet and cell phone before making their getaway.  The victim’s injuries were minor and did not require medical treatment.  Investigators have located and charged the one suspect, 22-year-old Con’travius Deunte Parks of Dothan, with one count of Burglary First-Degree and one count of Robbery First-Degree with a $150,000.00 bond on each charge.  The investigation is ongoing and the Dothan Police Department asks that anyone with information related to this incident please contact the Dothan Police Department at 615-3000 or CrimeStoppers at 793-7000.

Dollar General Robbery

On August 15, 2018 at approximately 7:30 p.m. Dothan Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Dollar General Store located in the 1000 block of W. Main Street.

Employees working during the robbery reported that a black male walked into the store and demanded money from the cashier. The male was armed with a handgun and his face was covered by a green mask, he was wearing a red shirt, and black pants. The male was described as being approximately 5’7″ tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds. There were customers inside the store when the robbery occurred and they provided the same description as the employees.

There were no injuries during the robbery. The suspect was unable to obtain any cash or merchandise from the business and fled on foot towards the rear of the store. Man Arrested for Robbery at Tractor Supply

On August 7, 2018 Dothan Police Responded to Tractor Supply, located in the 3700 block of W. Main St., to reports of a robbery in progress. When officers arrived they found that the suspect was being held on the ground by an employee of the business. The suspect was taken into custody at that time.

Employees reported that the Kyle Dustin Head, 26, of Zion Crossroads Virginia walked into the store and put on a pair of new Wolverine boots. Head put his old boots in the new box and attempted to walk out of the store. An employee stopped Him at the door and a struggle ensued. During the struggle Head brandished a knife, but the employee was able to wrestle him to the ground where he held him until police arrived.

The employee suffered bruising to the face and only suffered minor injuries. Head was charged with Robbery 1st Degree and is being held with no bond.

Armed Robbery at Dollar General

On August 6, 2018 Dothan Police responded to an armed robbery at the Dollar General Store located in the 2800 block of Ross Clark Circle. Employees of the store reported that at approximately 9:50 a.m. a black male entered the store with a green toboggan covering his face and he was armed with a handgun.

The employees stated that the suspect pointed the weapon at them and demanded money from the register. The suspect was described as being approximately 5’6″ to 5’7″ tall and weighing approximately 140 to 160 lbs. His clothes were described as a blue long sleeve shirt and black pants with a grey stripe down the leg and white tennis shoes.

Dothan Man Arrested for Several Local Burglaries

On July 17, 2018 patrol officers recognized a man wanted in connection with several burglaries of local businesses. Patrol officers were able to capture 20 year old Brandon Lashun Pearson of Liberty Ct. Dothan.

From June 18, 2018 to July 17, 2018 several local businesses were burglarized by breaking out the front glass doors. Pearson was charged with seven counts of Burglary 3rd degree. The businesses he was charged with are the Dollar General and Hop-In on Cottonwood Highway, Italian Express and People Ready on Ross Clark Circle, Styles Unlimited Barber Shop on South Oates St., Wiregrass Recreation Center on Sixth Ave., and the Family Dollar on Palm Jean Road. Pearson was also charged with one count of Robbery 1st degree for the Robbery of a person in the 300 block of Fifth Avenue.

Pearson was booked into the Dothan City Jail and has bonds totaling $161,000.00.

One Arrested in Convenience Store Robbery

On June 11th 2018 Dothan Police responded to an Armed Robbery of a business in the 3400 block of Denton Road. Two suspects entered the business armed with handguns and demanded money from the employee. The employee attempted to flee from the store and was involved in an altercation with the suspects.

The employee was eventually able to escape from the business with minor injuries. The suspects fled the store with a small amount of cash, cigarettes, and a laptop computer. Investigators were able to obtain video surveillance from the store and released the video to the public.

On June 14th investigators were able to identify one of the suspects involved in the robbery. Kenneth Lamont Davis, 30, of Sherwood Dr. in Dothan was arrested for one count of Robbery 1st Degree and one count of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree. A search warrant was served at his residence on Sherwood Dr. where investigators recovered a handgun and marijuana. Davis has bonds totaling $255,000.00.

Armed Robbery of Business (Updated)

During the evening  of June 11th 2018 Dothan Police responded to a report of an Armed Robbery  in the 3400 block of Denton Road. When officers arrived they were informed that two suspects entered the business and demanded money. Both suspects were armed with hand guns and were last seen fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and property.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Early Morning Robbery, One Arrested and One Wanted for Questioning

In the early morning hours of May 25th 2018 Dothan Police responded to a report of an Armed Robbery in the parking lot of the Marathon Station in the 1800 block of Ross Clark Circle. When officers arrived they were informed that two black males approached the male and female victims while they were in the parking lot and demanded the keys to their vehicle. One of the suspects were armed with a handgun.

The female victim was able to escape the vehicle and fled from the scene. During her escape one of the suspects fired two shots at her as she was running away. The suspects were able to obtain $4.00 in cash from the male victim and fled the scene in the vehicle they arrived at the store in.

One of the suspects was identified as Jeremy Christopher McKenzie, 31, of Massee Dr. Dothan. McKenzie was located and taken to the Dothan Police Department for questioning. After the interview was completed he was charged with two counts of Robbery 1st Degree. McKenzie has bonds totaling $120,000.00.

The other suspect was identified as Larry Ladon Reese, 38, of Dothan. Reese is wanted for questioning for his involvement in the Robberies.
