Murder on Naomi Drive in Dothan

On June 9, 2019 Dothan Police responded to a report of a firearm assault in the 100 block of Naomi Drive. Officers arrived and found 27 year old Akheem Benjamin Hall lying in the yard deceased.

Hall was shot twice, he was struck in the forearm, and upper back area. Rescue responded to the scene, but was unsuccessful in life saving attempts.

Investigators responded to the scene and began speaking with witnesses. During the investigation a suspect was identified. Investigators are looking for 23-year-old Tayshawn Malik Stevenson for questioning. He is described as a black maleĀ  6’0″ tall and weighing approximately 230 pounds.

Suspect Sought in Andrews Bridal Shop Robbery

On April 1, 2019 Dothan Police responded to a robbery at Andrews Bridal Shop in the 2800 block of Montgomery Highway. During the Robbery, the female employee was sexually assaulted and an undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the business.

Dothan Police began an investigation into the robbery. On April 3, 2019 Chipley Florida had a kidnapping and rape that was similar to the crimes committed in Dothan. The description given in both crimes were the same, as well as, other details involved in the investigation.

The Dothan Police Department began working with the Chipley Police Department and were able to identify a suspect in these crimes. The Dothan Police Department has obtained arrest warrants for black male Travis Dickson Wilson (35) of Cottondale, Florida. The arrest warrants are for one count of Robbery 1st degree, Sodomy 1st degree, and Sexual Abuse 1st Degree.

Wilson is believed to have fled the area and his whereabouts are unknown at this time. He is believed to be traveling in a Red 2018 Dodge Journey with a Florida Tag. He is also believed to be armed with a handgun. Shell Station Robbery

On April 15, 2019 Dothan Police responded to a Robbery at the Shell Station in the 3200 block of Montgomery Highway. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the employee, who was not injured during the robbery.

The employee stated that at approximately 2:20 A.M. a black male entered the store wearing a black and grey hooded sweatshirt and black and white pants. The employee stated that the male had the hood pulled over his head and his hands in his pockets.

The male approached the counter with his hands in his pocket gesturing that he had a weapon and demanded the money from the register. The employee complied and he escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash and several packs of Newport cigarettes. He fled on foot toward the rear of the business.

Pictures were obtained from the store surveillance cameras. The Dothan Police Department requests that anyone that can identify the individual in the pictures or that knows anything about this crime to contact them at 334-615-3000 or CrimeStoppers at 334-793-7000.

Andrews Bridal Shop Robbery

On April 1, 2019 at approximately 12:30 P.M. Dothan Police responded to a Robbery at Andrews Bridal Shop in the 2800 block of Montgomery Highway. Officers arrived on scene and spoke to a female employee that was working when the robbery occurred.

The employee stated that a black male wearing a dark shirt and dark pants also wearing a ball cap entered the business and inquired about a tuxedo. The male was described as being between 25 – 30 years old, between 5’5″ and 5’9″ tall and weighing between 170-180 pounds. During her interaction with the male he hit her in the side of the head with his fist and the employee began to struggle with him. During the struggle the male produced a handgun and pointed it at her head. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and forced the victim to go to the rear of the store.

Once at the rear of the store she was forced to lay on the ground. The male then removed some of her clothing and began touching her inappropriately. At this point, customers began showing up to the store and the male exited the rear door. He was seen by witnesses getting into a small maroon SUV and leaving the scene. The victim was taken to Southeast Health for treatment with non-life threatening injuries.

Auburn police officer shooting

UPDATE @ 10:13pm: The suspect is no longer a threat at this time.

We are continuing to monitor the events in Auburn, Alabama a short time ago. An Auburn Police Officer was shot and critically injured after effecting a traffic stop involving a robbery suspect.

The suspect has been identified as 38-year-old white male Christopher James Wallace. He may be in the company of an unknown white female. He may be wearing or in possession of a camo hoodie sweatshirt.

The vehicle is a silver Jeep Liberty bearing a Barbour County, Alabama tag 6AB5267.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. If you see the vehicle or suspect please call 911.

At the time of this post, we do not believe the suspect is in the Dothan area, but if you have any family or friends near Auburn please make them aware of this potentially dangerous situation.

Thankfully the officer who was shot is in stable condition and expected to make a recovery.

Shell Station on Hartford Hwy. Robbed

On Nov. 7th 2018 at approximately 11:30 P.M. Dothan Police responded to a report of an Armed Robbery at the Shell Station located in the 2900 block of Hartford Highway.

Once on scene officers discovered that a black male wearing a blue or black hooded jacket, black pants, and a blue bandana over his face entered the store and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect had his hand in his pocket that led the clerk to believe he was armed with a weapon.

The clerk opened the register and gave the contents to him. The suspect then fled on foot from the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. Video evidence was collected from the scene.

Armed Robbery of Business (Updated)

During the evening Ā ofĀ June 11thĀ 2018 Dothan Police responded to a report of an Armed RobberyĀ  in theĀ 3400 block of Denton Road. When officers arrived they were informed that twoĀ suspects entered the business and demanded money. BothĀ suspects were armed with hand guns and were last seen fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and property.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Early Morning Robbery, One Arrested and One Wanted for Questioning

In the early morning hours of May 25th 2018 Dothan Police responded to a report of an Armed Robbery in the parking lot of the Marathon Station in the 1800 block of Ross Clark Circle. When officers arrived they were informed that two black males approached the male and female victims while they were in the parking lot and demanded the keys to their vehicle. One of the suspects were armed with a handgun.

The female victim was able to escape the vehicle and fled from the scene. During her escape one of the suspects fired two shots at her as she was running away. The suspects were able to obtain $4.00 in cash from the male victim and fled the scene in the vehicle they arrived at the store in.

One of the suspects was identified as Jeremy Christopher McKenzie, 31, of Massee Dr. Dothan. McKenzie was located and taken to the Dothan Police Department for questioning. After the interview was completed he was charged with two counts of Robbery 1st Degree. McKenzie has bonds totaling $120,000.00.

The other suspect was identified as Larry Ladon Reese, 38, of Dothan. Reese is wanted for questioning for his involvement in the Robberies. Dothan Police Looking for Police Impersonator

On February 11th 2018 patrol officers responded to a report of a police impersonator. The victim reported that he was stopped in the 1300 block of E. Selma St. by two black males that were driving a black Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Grand Marquise. The vehicle was described as having black wheels and a push bumper on the front. The vehicle was equipped with a loud speaker and “flashing all blue lights”.Ā  The black male was described as approximately 5 foot 9 inches tall and weighing approximately 210 pounds with a muscular build and short haircut.

The victim reported that he was told over the loud speaker to pull over. He was approached by a black male wearing a uniform with patches and a gold badge attached to his shirt. The impersonator had a police style duty belt with a radio that may have been a scanner. The victim also stated that a second black male was in the passenger seat of the vehicle, but never exited. He was asked for his drivers license and was told to exit and stand at the rear of his vehicle. He wasĀ told he matched the descriptionĀ of a suspect he was looking for then released.
