Narcotics Arrest

On Monday 10/15/2107 Vice Investigators arrested and charged 25 year old Stephen James Frank, of Saddlewood Trail, with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Pistol by a Violent Felon, Possession of Marijuana 2nd degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Vice Investigators made contact with Frank in the 2100 block of Ross Clark Circle in a parking lot. Investigators recovered five hundred and eighty six Alprazolam (Xanax) pills, a handgun, and two grams of marijuana.

Bond has been set at $20,000. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilt y in a court of law.

Joint Investigation Leads to Drug Seizure and Arrests

The Dothan Police Department and Houston County Sheriff’s Office Vice Units have been working a joint investigation into the illegal distribution of narcotics for the past two weeks.

On Friday night Vice Investigators from both agencies along with Houston County Deputies attempted to stop the suspect’s vehicle as it approached his residence in Columbia. After a short vehicle pursuit the vehicle struck a tree and two subjects ran from the vehicle. One subject was apprehended by a Sheriff’s Office K9 and the other was apprehended by Vice Investigators shortly after they fled. Evidence was recovered from the location of the pursuit.

Investigators executed a search warrant in the 100 block of Campbell Street Columbia. Combined from both locations Investigators seized 2.6 pounds of methamphetamine (Ice), 1200 Xanax pills, Steroids, Marijuana, 3 firearms, and approximately fifty one thousand cash.

Investigators have arrested and charged 32 year old Patrick Whitehead, of Woodbury Dr. Dothan, with two counts of Drug Trafficking.

Investigators have arrested and charged 38 year old Joshua Brady, of Campbell St. Columbia, with two counts of Drug Trafficking.

All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected.

Shoplifting Call Leads to Possession Charge

On 10/12/2017, Kristi Leigh Haynes (41) was stopped for shoplifting at Walmart Northside. During the investigation of the offense, it was discovered that she had previously been banned from the store and was also in possession of a schedule IV drug. Haynes was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. Her bonds were set at $7,500.00 for on each count.

Possession of Marijuana and Chemical Endangerment of a Child Arrest

On 10/3/2017, Christopher O’Brian Jackson (30) was arrested for Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree and Chemical Endangerment of a Child following events which occurred in the 1500 block of South Alice. Bonds for Jackson were set at $2,500.00 and $5,000.00 respectively.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Burglary and Assault of Resident Results in Arrest

On 10/10/2017, Keyeta Tashae Rich (28) was arrested for a Burglary in McRae Homes in which she was reported to have broken into the apartment and assaulted the resident. Rich was charged with Burglary 2nd Degree and her bond was set at $10,000.00.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Two Arrests made in Separate Vehicle Burglaries

On 10/7/2017, Sky Kornegay (18) was arrested on two counts of Unlawful Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle. The offenses occurred in the areas of Byrd Lane and Corey Lane. Evidence of the crimes were in Kornegay’s possession at the time of arrest. Bond was set at $15,000.00 for each case.

Shoplifting Arrest

On 10/07/2017, Officers responded to Belks on a shoplifting call. Amy Stokes Brunson, (31) was arrested for the theft of $552.00 worth of store property. Her bond was set at $1,000.00.

Burglary 3rd Arrest

On 10/08/2017, Bryce Tavares Myrick (41) was arrested for Burglary 3rd Degree after an investigation into the theft of a cash box and safe from a motel in the 2800 block of Ross Clark Circle. His bond was set at $10,000.00.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Domestic Violence 2nd/ Burglary Arrest

On 10/09/2017, Contavis Deon Harris (29) was arrested for Domestic Violence 2nd/ Burglary 2nd after a domestic incident where he broke into a residence in the 400 block of North Alice and assaulted the resident. His bond was set at $30,000.00.
